SAN MIGUEL 16" X20" WATERCOLOR ON ARCHESStreet scene motivated painting from a holiday trip to this very picturesque city. San Miguel is a historic music and art center in the highlands north of Mexico City. I would highly recommend including the area in any holiday to Mexico.
Here is what has been happening: most everyday first thing in the AM I travel to the wilds of my studio to paint small very affordable paintings on hardboard, canvas or somewhat larger watercolor and/or acrylic paintings on arches paper or canvas. No inexpensive material for me! Upon completion of one of my colorful impressions I take a picture of it, and post it on my blog . To purchase a painting simply click on the buy link. You’ll be taken to Pay Pal’s secure server to complete a simple credit card transaction. You do not have to be a Pay Pal member to purchase. Upon receiving payment I will immediately send your painting to you.

I plan to send out a new letter every few weeks if there’s something I think you will want to know about such as a new painting or other special event. However if you prefer not to receive my newsletters I will sadly remove your name from my list.
Derald Eastman has been interested in art since a very young age. His sixth grade teacher recognized this and gave him encouragement. As did his high school art teacher Don Musick. His formal art training was as a student at the University of Kansas majoring in Painting/illustration. Where he was closely tutored by Jack Armstrong. Having been employed in advertising for a number of years only recently has he been able to seriously pursue his artistic interest.
He pays painstaking attention to the composition of his paintings; in particular with the use of negative and positive areas which he considers of primary importance. These days he said, ”he paints with more economical means by suggesting detail rather than rendering it.”
As a member of the Alabama art community Derald’s work has been recognized in shows and received numerous awards. In the past few years he has focused his painting primarily in acrylics as well as watercolor.
